  • INDA announces Visionary finalists

    Five new consumer products that have been selected as finalists for INDA’s 2014 Visionary Award which will be presented during the annual Vision Consumer Products Conference which takes place at The Westin Galleria, Dallas, Texas from January 27-30, 2014.

    Finalists will make presentations on the Wednesday morning of the conference and attendees will place their votes for the recipient.

    The five finalists are:

    • Aireware Corporation for its Air Allergy advanced nasal filter. This discreet personal filter helps protect against irritating airborne allergens. It fits just inside the nose and uses filtration media from 3M. It is also lightly infused with a blend of premium essential oils which help reduce the symptoms associated with allergies.
    • Beantown Bedding for its Laundry-free Linens. These compostable bed sheets can be used for weeks and discarded guilt-free instead of laundering. They save water, energy and time and are ideal for camp, college, vacation homes, travel and healthcare. The sheets are hypoallergenic and USDA certified 100% bio-based.
    • Butterfly Health for its Butterfly Body Liners – a totally new kind of personal hygiene product designed to provide secure protection from light to moderate accidental bowel leakage (ABL). Butterfly Liners fit comfortably and discreetly and are a good solution for those with ABL.
    • Pacon Manufacturing for its Minwax wood finishing cloths. Pre-moistened with water-based wood stain and a protective clear finish in a variety of rich wood tones, these new cloth packs contain all that’s required to stain and protect unfinished wood, including a pair of gloves to wear during the application. The stain dries in an hour and soap and water can be used to to clean up.
    • LBP Manufacturing for its  UpShot coffee filter. This has a sidewall mesh design that results in the optimal coffee to water ratio, for full bodied flavour.

    “The Visionary Award recognises new consumer products that expand the use of nonwovens and demonstrate uniqueness, novelty and technical sophistication,” said Dave Rousse, INDA president. “The many nominees for 2014 encompass these qualities and we are pleased to have such a wide variety of consumer products from which we chose these finalists. The Visionary Award finalist presentations are one of the highlights at Vision and attendees will be treated to some interesting, unique information on these five products.”
