Altopel F ³ is a new durable fluorine-free water repellent finish being introduced by Bolger & O’Hearn, based in Fall River, Massachusetts.

It contains no organic solvents, fluorine compounds, or harmful surfactants and the company says a substantial portion of the raw materials used to produce it are derived from renewable sources.

“Consumers are the ultimate driver in the market and brand owners are now demanding more environmentally sound finishes for nonwovens and textiles,” says company president Shaun O’Hearn. “F3 delivers this with market-leading performance. When a brand replaces its fluorinated water repellent with Altopel F ³ it is making a statement that it is listening to its customers.”
