Fibres for carpets and nonwoven automotive floorcoverings are to be manufactured from DuPont’s Sorona by Universal Fibers, based in Bristol, Virginia, USA.
This follows the announcement of a collaboration between Universal and DuPont in respect of the renewably sourced polymer.
“We are extremely pleased to enhance our diverse product offering with Sorona,” said Universal CEO Marc Ammen. “For more than 40 years, Universal Fibers has been an industry leader in the development and production of sustainable high performance solution dyed fiber in multiple polymers. The addition of Sorona supports this commitment, and broadens our capabilities using solution dyed technology with our Universal Color system.”
