moonNASA professional Brooks Kimmel will make a keynote presentation at the IFAI Advanced Textiles conference which takes place alonside the exhibition from October 23-25, 2013 in Orlando, Florida, USA.

“In the space business, 99% perfection is equivalent to disaster,” said Wernher Von Braun, the father of American spaceflight  and Kimmel will focus on how this attitude has resulted in the development of specific textiles and fabrics NASA has utilised in an effort to protect both astronauts and ground support personnel.

“Safety is about discovering where systemic problems may arise before they happen, so we can proactively resolve these issues and prevent disasters,” he says.

In addition, the IFAI Advanced Textiles trade show will feature an informative and fascinating aerospace display on the show floor including a flight suit and covers used to protect the space station.
