dessDesso, the global manufacturer of carpets, carpet tiles and sports pitches headquartered in Waalwijk, The Netherlands, has signed a long-term cooperation agreement with fellow Dutch technical textile producer Bonar, headquartered in Arnhem.

Among other things, the companies will jointly participate in a three-year product development programme with a view to developing various kinds of new primary backings for Desso’s carpet products.

Bonar has already been a preferred supplier for quite some time as the producer of Colback nonwovens for backings, and will be developing product specifications in all possible high-quality variants in close collaboration with Desso, which has an annual turnover of €222 million.

“Bonar is an important and appealing partner, partly because of its unique two-step production process, process technology experience of product development,” said Willem Stas, director of operations at Desso.
