sbsAhlstrom is now incorporating its latest SMS (spunbond-meltblown-spunbond) technology into its Sterile Barrier Systems (SBS) range of nonwovens for the medical industry.

The interleaved composition of the company’s Reliance Tandem SBS products combine SMS and existing nonwovens to provide the optimal combination of such sheets for sequential wrapping.

Used together, the two layers offer a high degree of flexibility in terms of performance, technology and cost for different applications.

Previously, Ahlstrom’s interleaved SBS consisted of crepe and wetlaid materials.
