Biopharm GmbH, based in Heidleberg, Germany, in partnership with nonwovens leader Freudenberg, headquartered in Weinheim, have secured a new world patent relating to nonwovens containing the growth and differentiation factor protein GDF-5.
The fabrics are specifically designed to accelerate the tissue regeneration and wound healing processes and patent WO/2012/175611, secured on December 27 2012, covers their application in wound dressings and pads, as well as implants.
