medSince its opening earlier this year, Medline Industries has expanded  adult incontinence product capacity at its plant in Lithia Springs, Georgia, USA, by 50% and has just added a fifth converting machine to meet overwhelming customer demand.

This brings the total investment involved in the site to well over $100 million, with the latest state-of-the-art machines enabling the company to make products much more efficiently in terms of energy consumption.

In addition, the  advanced packaging equipment at Lithia Springs is reducing individual product packages by 20%, enabling more product to fit in its trucks for more efficient and environmentally-friendly shipping and delivery.

Medline has already hired around 120 new employees and plans on adding more positions to support the additional production lines.

“We’ve had tremendous response from our customers to the new adult incontinence products we’re making here,” said Dan Love, president of Medline’s personal care products division. “As the population ages, there is more and more demand for products like our new FitRight brief, which help people manage their incontinence with dignity.”

As the largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of health care supplies in the United States and the leading provider of disposable incontinence products to the long-term care and hospital markets, Medline built the new facility specifically to produce its latest FitRight adult incontinence brand.

The company manufactures and distributes more than 125,000 products to hospitals, extended care facilities, surgery centres, physician offices and home care dealers each year. It has a growing network of 50 manufacturing and distribution centres worldwide, as well as an expanding, dedicated transportation fleet with over 200 vehicles in a variety of sizes to fit customers-specific delivery needs. The fleet is equipped with the latest navigation devices for enhanced order tracking and communication.
