Alexium has successfully demonstrated its Reactive Surface Technology (RST) treatments for functionalising temperature-sensitive polyolefins – the key fibres for the nonwovens industry which are also employed for applications including sporting goods, ballistic protection and climbing ropes.
RST is now able to add new properties to the fibres, such as antimicrobial, adhesion promotion and flame retardance.
