US hospitals produce over 5.9 million tons of waste each year – with very little of it being recycled.
One reason for this – as recently highlighted by the US Healthcare Plastics Recycling Council (HPRC) – is that staff have no time to separate plastic lids and trays for recycling.
In response to this, Thermoform Engineered Quality (TEQ), based in Huntley, Illinois, has developed a single polymer sterile barrier system (SBS) solution called TEQethylene which exploits the performance of DuPont’s Tyvek nonwovens.
