Lenzing AG is taking legal action against the infringement of its Lyocell patents.
A preliminary injunction has been imposed on the Austrian engineering firm One-A Engineering Austria GmbH to prohibit it from instructing third parties or from helping them to use the Lyocell spinning technology which has been patented by Lenzing.
Specifically, Lenzing owns process patents in which, after forming in the spinning device, the Lyocell spinning solution is released into a specially-designed gap with a stream of gas or air. This results in the consistent high quality of Lyocell fibres for nonwovens and textiles.
These patent-protected production processes may not be used without the company’s express approval. Similarly, any fibres manufactured in accordance with the patented process may not be used, offered for sale or sold without Lenzing’s consent.
Lenzing defends its patents diligently and says it will respond to any infringement of its patent rights to ensure the continued quality its fibres.
