Increased processing efficiencies, further improved carpet appearance and superior dimensional stability of finished carpet tiles are the chief benefits of a new nonwoven primary backing being launched by Colbond this week.
Colback Profloor eases the creation of complex tuft constructions and enhances end product characteristics. An early adopter is leading carpet tile producer Desso.
“Colback Profloor is the result of a major R&D programme we carried out in close cooperation with leading carpet tile producers,” said Marc Krauth, Colbond’s vice president of sales and marketing “With this week’s launch we will make the product available to a wider group of customers.”
The new backing delivers both benefits during carpet manufacturing and during service life, including enhanced tuftability, stitch holding performance and process behaviour.
“Desso has already chosen Colback Profloor because of its superior technical performance,” said Ludwig Cammaert, Colbond’s design and technical development manager. “It offers a significant improvement in the dimensional stability of carpet tiles with economic advantages too.”
Colback Profloor will be unveiled at the Domotex flooring tradeshow which will open in Hanover on Saturday, January 14.
