PGAs the biggest consumer goods company in the world with annual sales of $79 billion, Procter & Gamble has announced that it intends to replace 25% of its non-renewable materials with renewable or recycled alternatives by 2020 – with the eventual target of achieving a 100% replacement.

Being also the biggest buyer of nonwoven materials worldwide, P&G’s initiative will be of particular interest to attendees at the 2011 EDANA Outlook consumer products conference.

Frank Wiesmann, a principal scientist for P&G in Germany, will outline the key pillars of the company’s Sustainability Vision at the meeting, which takes place in Budapest, Hungary, from September 28-30.
