ecosureScientific Certification Systems has completed the evaluation of EcoSure and EcoSure Wellstrand fibres manufactured by Poole Company in in South Carolina, USA and China.
Based on the renewal evaluation, these products have fully qualified for certification under the SCS Recycled Content Certification Programme.

“There are very few fibre manufacturers that are currently certified by SCS for recycled content in the PET category – four in the world to be exact,” says Michael Wolfe, director of business development and environmental certification service at SCS. “Taking plastic drink bottles destined for a landfill and recycling them into quality fibre is an innovative and creative vision. and we applaud Poole Company for proactively filling this niche in the industry and offering consumers and suppliers sustainable alternatives to virgin fibres.

EcoSure is a staple fibre for both textiles and nonwovens made from 100% PCR (post consumer recycled) PET flake. Studies by NAPCOR have determined that the use of PCR polyester compared to virgin polyester  reduces energy consumption by 84% and greenhouse gas emissions by 71%.

When selecting fibre from the Poole Company, customers have an enhanced moisture management capability and can achieve optimum performance and value in spunlace, chemical bond and needlepunch applications guaranteed by:

    • Excellent carding on all high speed/ultra high speed systems.
    • Meeting all US and European health and safety requirements.
    • Meeting FDA standards for food contact and service.
    • Superior quality for critical hygiene applications.
    • Fibre designed to yield ultra-soft fabrics with improved cover.
