Lenzing has successfully completed its latest Tencel capacity expansion at its plant in Heiligenkreuz, Austria following an investment of €60 million over a three-year period.
Capacity at the plant now stands at an annual 60,000 tons, complemented by the Tencel for textiles manufactured at Grimsby in the UK and product specifically for nonwovens made at Mobile, Alabama, USA.
The expansion is scheduled to continue – current global capacity of 140,000 tons will be expanded to 275,000 tons by 2015.
The eco-credentials of Tencel are contributing significantly to its success.
