Eastman Chemical Company received the EDANA INDEX14 Innovation in Raw Material Award for its Cyphrex microfibres.
At the ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland, (from left) Eastman’s Todd Williams, Tim Dell, Jeanette McQueeney and Paul Dulick were present to receive the award.
Cyphrex is an entirely new platform for blends polyester and cellulose microfibres.
“Cyphrex microfibres offer tunable properties in respect of the size, shape and material that provide wet-laid nonwoven producers with competitive advantages that haven’t been available previously,” says Tim Dell. “They have already demonstrated nearly drop-in compatibility with existing wetlaid nonwoven processes and potential initial uses are in air, water or fuel filtration, speciality papers and battery separators.”
