Environmental news and technical innovation in the nonwovens sector

Freudenberg Filtration Technologies has acquired the industrial activated carbon corrosion protection business of North American company MeadWestvaco, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia.

The company’s activated carbon filters clean ambient or recirculating air by adsorbing harmful gases that lead to the corrosion of machinery and equipment. They are employed by pulp and paper producers, refinery operators and the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.

“Air pollution is a global problem presenting considerable challenges now and in the future,” says Dr Mohsen Sohi of Freudenberg’s board. “With the acquisition of MeadWestvaco’s corrosion protection business we now offer a broader range of advanced filtration solutions.”
