Singapore-headquartered Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) – the world’s largest paper manufacturer with substantial operations in China and also a significant producer of nonwoven wipes – is to require future suppliers and acquisitions to match its own Zero Deforestation commitments.
A procedure is being introduced to ensure the company’s supply chain is permanently free of deforestation and that all future suppliers and acquisitions are compliant with the company’s Forest Conservation Policy (FCP) introduced in February 2013.
