LUDWIGSBURG - The Mann+Hummel Group has announced a strategic investment in M-Filter Group, one of the largest filter manufacturing companies in Northern and Eastern Europe with several production facilities in Finland and Lithuania.

Founded in 1962 in Finland, M-Filter initially produced automotive filters although today, the focus is mainly on HVAC and air filtration including HEPA filters and oil/hydraulic filters for engines. It also has a strong footprint in both OEM as well as in the commercial HVAC sector across Scandinavia and in the Baltic countries.

While the Filterpak brand will complement Mann+Hummel’s existing portfolios in commercial and residential HVAC, M-Filter will also provide a strong input in the OEM products for industrial and engine filtration, allowing Mann+Hummel to expand across the region whilst offering customers a broader product portfolio.

“Joining forces with M-Filter will allow us to strengthen our European footprint and unlock growth opportunities in Scandinavia and the Baltic states," said Kurk Wilks, CEO and President of the Mann+Hummel Group.

“The majority growth investment by Mann+Hummel will be used to further product development and will enable us to invest in sales and operational capabilities," added Kai Liesmaa, CEO of M-Filter. "The M-Filter Group has been able to grow the company organically and inorganically over the past years, and we’re looking forward to working closely with the Mann+Hummel teams to serve our customers in the region."

M-Filter Group consists of Oy M-Filter Ab, UAB M-Filter Lithuania, Filterpak Oy, PL-Filter Oy, Filter Partner Oy, Suodatinkeskus Suomi Oy, LM-Filters Oy and M-Filter GmbH. The Group´s turnover 2022 was about €29 million and it employs 240 people at its five factories.
