Environmental news and technical innovation in the nonwovens sector

OFFINGEN – BWF Envirotec, the filter division of Germany’s BWF Group which specialises in needlepunched nonwoven roll goods, filter bags and filter elements, has this year acquired its long-time partner, ACMA, to further expand its leading market position in the global growth market of air pollution control.

ACMA was established in 1995 and provides individual filtration solutions from Badalona, a Catalan industrial town about ten kilometres north-east of Barcelona.

Filter bags for industrial filtration are produced with a flexible fleet of machinery with an annual capacity of 120,000 units. Services such as the inspection of filter systems, technical advice, filter bag installation and filter exchange are offered by ACMA, as well as filter bag inspections, carried out at an in-house R & D lab. The company’s production portfolio is supplemented by filter cartridges and accessory parts such as supporting cages, valves, hose pipes, pressure tanks, electronic controls or emissions control probes.

There are solid synergies between the two companies in the supply of materials to equipment manufacturers and operators of flue gas cleaning plants

The BWF Group, which will exhibit at the forthcoming Techtextil show in Frankfurt from June 21-24, had annual sales of around €300 million in 2021, with 1,800 employees at 16 plants worldwide.
