Leipzig - Emtec Electronic, the manufacturer of testing equipment for the nonwovens and textiles industries will be at Hygienix 2018 with its latest technology for measuring fabric softness.

The TSA Softness Analyzer has been designed to give reliable and objective information about the three basic parameters, which determine the human feeling: the softness, roughness and stiffness. From these three, an overall hand feel value can be calculated, the company says.

Included into the softness measurement is the measurement of the viscoelastic, elastic and plastic properties, which are represented by the elasticity, plasticity and hysteresis. With an extra module, the compressibility can also be measured.

"The availability of the three individual parameters opens a huge amount of chances for the optimization of the production and converting processes," the company says.

Hygienix 2018 takes place from 5 to 8 November in Orlando, Florida. Emtec can be found at booth no. 54 alongside its American representative Technidyne Corporation.
