Environmental news and technical innovation in the nonwovens sector

Shanghai - Santex Rimar is offering its latest technology across two booths here at ITMA Asia + CITME this week including its latest Cavimelt P+P lamination machinery.

The Cavimelt hot melt system is a rotogravure printing process for coating and directly laminating textile and non-textile substrates with hot-melt adhesives. It has been designed to integrate the unwinder and rewinder in one machine frame, accepting rolls up to 600 mm in diameter, and a working width of 1600 – 2400 mm.

The hot melt adhesive polymer is then melted off-line in a barrel melter, melt tank, or extruder, and fed to the coating equipment by heated hoses. It is then applied to the gravure roller through the heated coating head with a doctor blade, and transferred onto the substrate.

After the hot melt dots have been transferred onto the first substrate, the second substrate is laminated to the first. Conversion to the alternative tensionless contact unwinding mode is performed via removal of the detachable brush expander rollers.

The Cavimelt P+P has applications across a number of sectors including sportswear, activewear, automotive interiors, home textiles, and technical composites.
