Following £14.5 million in expansion programmes during 2012, Fiberweb has announced a $15 million expansion at its US plant in Old Hickory, Tennessee.
The two-year expansion project will include the construction of a new 300,000-square foot warehouse and distribution centre and concentrate all operations into a single location, streamlining processes while at the same time reducing the company’s carbon footprint.
Fiberweb’s operations in Old Hickory include the latest research and development centre in addition to manufacturing lines for high-performance technical fabrics including water filtration fabric, breathable membranes for homebuilding, geotextiles and home care products.
A groundbreaking ceremony will take place on May 17.
