Despite the sale of its Sontara spunlaced nonwovens business to Switzerland’s Jacob Holm in June last year, DuPont’s Safety and Protection business increased its turnover to $3,896 million in 2014, compared to $3,884 milion in 2013.
Full year 2014 operating earnings of $794 million increased by 15% or $104 million, with higher volumes driven by increased demand for Kevlar, Nomex and Tyvek speciality fibres and fabrics, in addition to productivity improvements and lower product costs.
