falkenNew Jersey-headquartered Falken Industries is to expand its European plant for biodegradable wet wipes from 8,000 to 20,000 tons annually.

The company was one of the first to identify and capitaliseon the trend for employing baby wipes and other nonwovens for unintended uses.

At the same time, Falken will ramp up compounding capacity for derivative products in the Clean Plus branded Eco-pledge certified biodegradable range, which is particularly successful in the auto care and industrial cleaning markets, with annual growth of over 20%.

“We are already successful in the market with our unique biodegradable wet wipe productions and the related innovations that have derived from an emphasis on biodegradability,” said said communications officer Manuel Garcia. “The larger production capacities will enhance our position significantly.”

The new collection is fully biodegradable under industrial composting conditions in accordance with international chemical standards for ISO, DIN, JIS and EU Directives.

Falken is a diversified industrial conglomerate operating in chemicals, wet wipe and biodegradable technology with more than 160 products distributed through a global network.
