DAEGU - The organisers of the Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress have teamed up with the Korean Textile Federation (KOFOTI) and the DYETEC Institute Korea to launch a new event aimed at the Asian market.

The 1st Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress Asia will take place from March 3 – 4, 2020 in Daegu, South Korea.

The Dornbirn-GFC takes place in Austria every year in September, attracting over 700 international participants from more than 35 nations. The new event in Asia is expected to attract between 300 and 400 participants from the whole textile chain who will be keen to hear update on the latest innovations from the global fibre and textile industry.

The proposed programme will be similar to the Dornbirn-GFC congress in Austria. Plenary speakers will open the congress followed by around 30 expert lectures concentrating on a range of key topics including fibre innovations, nonwovens and technical textiles and the mobility – ie. automotive interiors and structural topics.

There will also be sessions on smart fabrics and sustainability and the circular economy followed by interactive discussions with the audiences.

The event will be held at the Samsung Creative Innovation Center in Daegu. All lectures will be given in English and will be translated to Korean with other languages available on request.

As a federation KOFOTI covers the entire textile chain and with strong links to China, Japan, Taiwan and other South Eastern Asian countries. It is also organizing the REVIEW PID trade fair, which will run at the same time in Daegu.
